70 minutes, but there are no restrooms available inside the cave during the tour, so be sure to use facilities before the tour begins.

Yes. For the standard walking tour of Grand Caverns, we only permit individuals 3 years and older. Any individuals under 18 are required to be accompanied by an adult.

For the tours, it is a gravel pathway with stairs and some benches periodically.

Yes there are stairs on the tours.

There is a paved walking path of moderate grade going up Cave Hill to the Cave Entrance Building. If this hill is of difficulty for someone in your party, then you shouldn’t take the tour.

Yes, our gift shop does offer drinks and snacks, however, these items cannot go into the cave.

Yes, although no alcoholic beverages are permitted on park grounds. However, no food or drink is permitted inside the caves for their protection.

Every adventure tour has at least 2 highly trained Park Rangers to safely lead and guide tours. We provide participants with top of the line safety equipment for each adventure tour.

Year-round the cave remains 56-58 degrees Fahrenheit. We suggest wearing layers for your tour.

We offer private tour rates for each of our tour offerings. Depending on your party size, it can save you money as it is a fixed rate whether you have 1 or 25 individuals in your party. Grand Caverns Park has 5 picnic shelters, a stage, a shaded riverside walking trail with exercise stops, mini golf, hiking trails, river access, and a gift shop/visitor center.

No, we do not provide overnight accommodations, however there are campgrounds nearby.

You can either book online HERE, over the phone at 540.249.5705, or in person at our gift shop during operational hours at 5 Grand Caverns Drive, Grottoes, VA 24441.

Unfortunately the caves at Grand Caverns Park are not ADA accessible and remain unavailable for strollers or walkers. The park grounds do however provide accessibility to many of the amenities such as the shaded riverside walking trails, picnic shelters, and gift shop.
